The Sales Director (Renewal/Cross Sell) will be part of Rakuten Marketing’s Sales team and will be accountable for renewing the annual agreements of Rakuten Marketing’s Growth (Internet Retailer 101-1000) Affiliate clients and cross selling additional RM services (e.g. Display, Social and Paid Search) to those same clients. The role works with top e-commerce businesses to enable them to grow online sales and acquire new customers.   
Role Description:
  • Build relationships with Rakuten Marketing’s existing Affiliate clients to secure the renewal of their annual programs valued at a minimum of $30,000 and up to $300,000 of annual revenue.
  • Identify cross sell opportunities within the same Affiliate client base.
  • Work closely with Client Services (CS) team members during the client renewal to define a renewal and cross-sell strategy that meets client and Rakuten Marketing needs
  • Produce a high volume of sales related activity (presentations, proposals, etc.)
  • Represent Rakuten Marketing at events tailored for our clients.
  • Formulate and present strategic presentations
  • Understand our competitive landscape and effectively sell against them
  • Meet and exceed all sales and revenue targets

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of sales experience in a consultative sales environment
  • Experience selling Affiliate Marketing, Display, Search, Attribution, Social or Video is highly desired
  • Proven record of generating new revenue, renewing an existing base of clients and exceeding sales quota
  • Experience selling software solutions to the C-level suite at Internet Retailer 101-1000 companies.
  • Proven record of success in a consultative selling environment
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
