Ebates Canada is currently looking for a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager who will bring in-depth knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices and a proven track-record of managing, optimizing, and growing paid search and organic search programs with a focus on ROI performance. This role requires the ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level with a desire to drive efficient campaign results through the use of data analysis and testing. The SEO/SEM Manager will manage search campaigns and budgets for search across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization strategies; executing on these strategies
  • Responsible for budget, goals, and scheduling of all paid search and organic search initiatives
  • Manage SEM/PPC programs through design, development, and management, including: campaign structure, keyword research, keyword management, keyword bidding, ad copy writing, A/B testing, landing page optimization, and any other core capability required to maximize results, drive volume, and hit key metrics
  • Drive SEO/organic growth through architectural, technical, and content recommendations
  • Research and evaluate keywords, market behaviour, trends and competitors to identify opportunities to maximize marketing effectiveness
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly account performance reporting and analysis; communicate results and optimizations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform granular traffic and conversion analyses across the Ebates.ca site to gain insight into keyword and landing page performance.
  • Identifying and analyzing competitor techniques, as well as benchmarking Ebates.ca performance against competitors. 
  • Lead link building and related content and distribution efforts
  • Work extensively with key stakeholders, including front-end Web dev, product management, marketing teams
  • Manage content optimization and implementation of content strategy



Experience & Skill Requirements

  • BA or BS degree (preferred in quantitative field such as marketing, economics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science/engineering).
  • 5 years experience managing SEM and SEO programs for mid-to-large organizations and/or agencies
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Tableau and Bing
  • Advanced skill with Excel and or Access required. 
  • Exposure to SQL, Java, HTML, CSS, or other coding languages strongly desired.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills, statistical background a plus
  • Demonstrable track record of business results through SEO. 
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
