The Role:

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Finance team! The team is an energetic and dedicated group of professionals that are highly involved in all facets of the business through the delivery of exceptional stakeholder value.


Reporting to the Director of Finance Content Business the Senior Data Analyst plays a vital role in supporting and delivering data analysis, reporting, and process improvement solutions for Rakuten Kobo’s digital content product offerings. In addition to this, the Senior Data Analyst is also responsible for the management and optimization of Rakuten Kobo’s payment processing fraud management platform.


The Person:

The ideal candidate will have an extensive technical background and is willing to build and enhance the teams existing data architecture, as well as develop new and more sophisticated solutions to current processes.


The candidate will be the “go-to” data person on the team and excellent communication skills are an absolute must. The candidate will work with all levels of the business and their ability to translate business needs into technical solutions will be critical to their success.


Key Responsibilities

·       Data architecture development and maintenance

·       Daily / Weekly / Monthly reporting support

·       Ad-hoc data analysis

·       Process optimization though technical solutions

·       Payment processing optimization and fraud management

·       Project management support


The Skillset:


·       5+ years in an analyst role

·       Proficient in SQL, Python, or similar languages

·       Ability to work with and manipulate large dataset efficiently

·       Self-motivated, creative, and a critical thinker

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
