The Role: 
The Senior Content Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, preparing and delivering monthly financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. The Analyst will report to the Finance Manager, Content Operations, and will be key in overseeing various segments Rakuten Kobo’s content operations.     The Analyst will possess a keen analytical ability with extensive use of Microsoft Excel. They will have impeccable attention to detail, and be extremely customer-centric. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced innovative culture, navigate dynamic structures, and be focused on delivering results with an emphasis on process orientation. 
• General accounting responsibilities related to content sales and month end closing 
• Act as content business subject matter expert  
• Finance lead for new product launches and special projects  
• Review, analyze and present monthly financial results and forecasts  
• Support and provide oversight on day to day content operations including publisher invoice creation and reconciliations  
• Prepare Ad-hoc reporting as needed  
The Skillset: 
Technical skills:
• Expert in Microsoft Excel 
• Generally adept with ERP’s and Financial Systems 
• Knowledge of SQL is an asset  
• University degree in Accounting / Business 
• Has or is working towards a Professional Accounting designation (CPA)  
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in financial analyst role 
• Developed business acumen, with ability to inform, message, and persuade 
• Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced culture – flexible and adapts to change
