Rakuten Institute of Technology is the dedicated R&D organization within Rakuten Inc. The institute is involved in research projects of services by Rakuten group.  We are looking for a talented professional that can empower the research projects and accelerate innovation in the Group. The role of this position is to establish collaborative relationship with stakeholders, through which we provide support and promotion to our research activities, and thereby boost performance by entire organization.
As a R&D Liaison Coordinator you will be responsible for:

Driving business improvement projects, such as:

  • Establishing and operating the Deming (PDCA) Cycle for continuous optimization of administrative tasks
  • Standardizing or automation of business processes to increase efficiency in works related to research
  • Evaluating and refining of research environment



Executing routine tasks. The scope of work includes, but not limited to:

  • Workflow
  • Procurement
  • Staffing
  • Contract
  • Asset Management
  • Audit Support
  • Promotion (to internal/external audiences)

Other miscellaneous tasks to assist researchers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of working experience
  • Basic computer skill (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Engineer background (Requires coding test)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in related field(s) specified above 
  • Hand-on experience in system development 
  • Administrating/planning experience in a R&D division
  • Excellent communication skill (both written and verbal)
  • Problem-solving skill
  • Attention-to-detail skill with efficiency in routine tasks
