The responsibility of the Merchant Success Associate is to help grow sales for a select group of new and developing merchants on the Rakuten.com Marketplace. You will accomplish this by analyzing your market offerings and by developing and executing on sales and product category plans to maximize opportunities. You will also partner with the merchandising, marketing, customer service and IT teams on projects and initiatives to drive and grow the business.


Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Manage portfolio of Merchants to maintain strong relationships, grow their individual

businesses, provide marketing exposure in site campaigns and emails, and manage inventory

levels and identify changes in demand and logistics.

Advise Merchants on how to best develop their business on our marketplace through guidance

on eCommerce basics and success measures.

Forecast and analyze sales figures and write weekly recaps. Conduct regular analysis on issues

affecting merchant performance and build solutions.

Develop a strong understanding of the products in the portfolio and recommend content ideas.

Facilitate Merchant participation in promotions and advertising on Rakuten.com 


Manage multiple projects with everchanging expectations and priorities.

Occasional web-site management via in-house content management and product management tools also required along with technical trouble shooting to correct content or feed errors.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University 


  • 1-3 years of related experience in eCommerce, Marketplace, and/or Account Management.

  • Retail industry experience and product knowledge along with awareness and interest in trends.

  • Must have strong prioritizing, planning, problem solving and time management skills. Ability to

    think both strategically and tactically with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to make important decisions, cope with the pressure of meeting demanding targets and

    working within tight deadlines.

  • Smart, creative, humble, hungry, funny, and nice. You should be a competitive, self-motivated

    individual with a strong desire to win.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
