Job Description

The Strategy & Business Development team at Ebates plays a critical role in defining our path forward. We are responsible for developing Ebates’ overall strategy, identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities, and ensuring execution of initiatives by partnering with Product, Engineering and Business teams.


The team reports to our CEO, and provides strategic support and thought partnership to the entire Executive Leadership Team. This role provides unparalleled access to senior management and offers lots of opportunity to make an enormous impact on the company’s success in the short and long-term.


Key Responsibilities


• Perform market analysis, identify customer and competitor insights and distill Rakuten corporate-level strategy to help define Ebates business strategy and priorities

• Identify, negotiate and execute business development opportunities in support of the company’s strategic goals (including developing new lines of business organically, establishing strategic partnerships, and M&A)

• Take ownership and work with cross-functional teams within Ebates to ensure execution of strategies


Ideal Candidate Skills:


• Excellent analytics, result-oriented problem-solving and sound judgement (proficiency in Tableau / SQL a plus)

• Ability to draw insights & convey recommendations succinctly

• Proficiency with PowerPoint / keynote
• Results Focus: Own it, Do it, Test & Improve it

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Innovative thinker; not afraid to question existing business models & go to market channels

• Passionately stays informed of new technologies and their applications

• Entrepreneurial Drive & Spirit to take initiative and ownership




• MBA preferred (or equivalent experience); Prior Computer Science or Technical degree preferred

• Minimum 3 years of experience at a top-tier tech, investment bank or management consulting firm

• Experience in retail/eCommerce operations or product management are a plus
