Rakuten Security Team evolves Anti-fraud activities with security engineers who have passion to fight against abuse, fraud, phishing.

In Anti-fraud engineering team, a lead security engineer contributes through technical analysis, identifying routes of frauds, and proactive research. From research and hypothesis phase to analysis and execution, the core engineer is involved in all phases.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis and research on Rakuten data sources for law enforcement action or fraud cases
  • Build and maintain tools and applications for automation and analysis in anti-phishing/anti-fraud
  • OSINT and fraud research via public, commercial, and closed media and communications
  • CSIRT activities for phishing/fraud sites, campaigns, or cases
  • Design, build, and kaizen industry-wise (or global) countermeasures for frauds through external/internal collaborations
  • Contribute Anti-Cyber Crime Office in engineering and cyber defense perspectives

Minimum Qualifications:


Many skills and experience are listed in qualifications, however we understand there's no such 'perfect' security engineer, like there's no perfect security.
We describe required and preferred here to connect your specialty and passion with cybersecurity.

  • Engineering and technical operation experience for at least 3 years in cybersecurity/cybercrime, or relevant knowledge/experience
  • Practical knowledge and experience in multiple programming languages with at least 3 years experience in one of them such as: Java, C/C++, C#, Go Lang, Python, Ruby, Perl, bash, or Powershell
  • Practical knowledge and experience in SQL
  • Deep understanding and professional experience in protocols used by criminals in fraud including HTTP, TLS, SMTP, DNS
  • Customer first, team-worker, passion for contribution for continuous enhancement
  • Understanding and commitment to Code of Ethic
  • Experience as a leader in teams or projects
  • Japanese skills in reading, writing, and communication with Japanese members (JPNT:N1-2)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in anti-fraud activities and response
  • Professional experience in OOP
  • Experience of development, operation, or incident response in B2C or B2B service
  • CSIRT experience
  • Understanding for Japanese laws and regulations about cybercrime and authorized access (Japanese or English)
