Director, Sales Operations

The Role:

The Director of Sales Operations will be responsible for overseeing customer device & accessory pricing; managing device & accessory promotional spend; as well as working cross functionally to manage overall profitability for devices & accessories. The candidate will need to possess a high analytical ability with extensive experience in working with consumer electronics products and external customers. The candidate will have to demonstrate an ability to balance the needs of external customers with the internal business goals. In addition, the candidates will be expected to relentlessly review business practices to initiate operational processes and / or implement process improvements.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Key member of management team responsible for selling e-reader and accessories to globally based customers and book sellers
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to prioritize quarterly investments in retail channels, and model different initiatives to drive top line growth, improve product mix and drive profitability to achieve quarterly targets.
  • Perform customer deals analysis and ensure business opportunities are profitable and /or meet strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for establishing standard customer pricing for devices and accessories.
  • Develop unique pricing and incentives to secure customer commitments. Approve each customer deal ensuring maximum ROI.

  • Develop and manage all processes, procedures and tools that enhance sales team performance including: compensation plan design and execution, performance management, analytics, business intelligence
  • Partner with Sales and Legal to execute customer contracts and quarterly deals.
  • Collaborate with product team to perform sensitivity analysis on device portfolio scenarios 
  • Perform scenario planning analysis on marketing / pricing promotions to determine impacts on Device Business P&L for financial budget and forecasts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing consumer electronics products into retail and global markets is required
  • Proven accountability delivering business results in a consumer electronics products business
  • Previous experience managing business P&L
  • 10+ years of sales operations, sales management, financial support or operations experience
  • Experience setting prices for consumer electronics
  • Strong financial analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree is a plus
  • Experience working with customer contracts is preferred
  • Knowledge of supply chain management is preferred
