Rakuten TV is looking for a Content Country Manager in charge of the DACH market.

  • Ensure the pan-EU company strategy is implemented at local level
  • Report on local performance of relevant KPIs (includes revenue weekly update)
  • Represent RTV at relevant trade events
  • Represent the country in internal meetings

Content Acquisition

  • Relationship with the studios in order to get special content (i.e. early windows, exclusivity, additional rights)
  • Work with the Content central team to identify new content needs and provide input into acquisitions process when necessary
  • Review market data to ensure that the defined coverage of titles/suppliers is met
  • Understand content trends in the local market to ensure RTV maximizes any growth opportunity
  • Check pricing with studios to ensure updated pricing is realistic to competitor landscape and engage with Studios when required, envisioning a more effective WSP/MFPB Review market data to meet MGs and coverage of suppliers

Content Programming

  • Define content roadmap
  • Select new content in line with centralized strategy and ensure it delivers ROI once published
  • Support the Operations team with the internal tools & information required to ingest content
  • Give feedback to local programmer for content lists (final responsibility for programming is within the programming team)
  • Work together with programming when necessary to define newsletters and CMP (The programming team will be final owner of these documents).
  • Generate co-marketing support from content providers on top new releases, and highlight new marketing opportunities.

  • Work with Marketing central team to define the promotion of the month.
  • Support the implementation of promotions (selection of titles, negotiating pricing with studios, briefings..)
  • Focus co-marketing activities  on driving repeat visits from existing users & conversion of that traffic into sales
  • Maintain strong relationships with local sales & marketing teams of key content partners
  • Work closely with central Marketing teams to co-ordinate clear, consistent content marketing with the same priority titles across all channels (e.g. emails, website, Smart TV banners, consoles, social media etc.) that conveys Rakuten TV guidelines
  • Plan, agree and execute EST promotions with content providers to drive traffic and sales
  • Conduct regular analysis of sales data in order to continually improve the performance
  • Identify co-marketing opportunities with Studios to be exploited via Partners with the support of the Local Content & Marketing Coordinator
  • Manage potential risk impact with Studios
  • Monitor actions and propose changes to maximize results


• 4 or more years of experience in a similar position withing the DACH markets

• Experience in the VOD sector 

• Native/fluent level of German and English
