We are currently seeking a LMS (Learning Management System) Project Manager to enhance training operations through integrating LMS solutions across all businesses with prime responsibility for the Japan subsidiaries.


Reporting to the Head of Talent Development Section, you will work within a matrix structure optimizing learning operations and supporting the business units through integrating and implementing LMS solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary liaison, proactively identifying risks and identifying solutions to challenges related to the delivery of solutions. Partner with external vendors and internal product owners to position learning and talent management related solutions. Builds strong relationships with stakeholders within Rakuten. Prepare and present recommendations and plans to decision makers.
  • Work with key stakeholders to analyze all needs, system upgrades, corporate initiatives, and follows through for successful management and implementation of learning programs and initiatives. Key stakeholders include training designers,  operations executives, HR partners, HRIS team, and end users.
  • Work cross-functionality within Rakuten and with external vendors to solicit support necessary to ensure operation excellence of LMS.
  • Develop weekly reporting on LMS operations and improvements. Report on successes and lessons learned from project events. 
  • Serve as subject matter expert on LMS matters and handle inquiries from end users and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4 years experience in operations, learning, and/or HRIS fields. Experience in Workday and/or any LMS is a plus.
  • Very strong project management skills
  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office – Advanced Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Project
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and to remote teams, and work effectively in complex matrix structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively under minimum supervision, with remote multicultural teams
  • Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to details
  • A customer centric focus, with a sense of urgency and strong work ethic that results in quality work product
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information in all aspects of HR
  • Either fluent in English with business level Japanese or fluent in Japanese with business level English is a must
