Working as part of a Global Technology Team, the Business/Data Analyst supports business decisions and operational processes with frequent interaction with other key team members across the organization. Collects, manipulates, validates, and analyzes complex data from varying sources. Develops analytical reporting solutions to help Sr. Management make more informed and educated strategic decisions

  • Daily monitoring of essential reports for quality control and verification of key metrics (Project CapEx, Depreciation, Cloud Costs, Personnel Roster)
  • Develops and maintains new reports based on requirements from different stakeholders (Domo/Other reporting tools)
  • Enhances existing reports to improve accuracy, readability and accountability across the different teams
  • Collaborates with business managers, engineers, and R&D teams to effectively identify new opportunities and systemize development operations/process
  • Gathers data to produce monthly forecasts and budgets. Creates financial reports and presentations
  • Develops and tracks ROI analysis of software projects
  • Helps deliver projects on-time, on-budget and in-scope
  • Works with distributed teams in various time zones (US, Europe, Asia)
  • Manages external market and industry trend research to understand macro-economic drivers and identify disruptive technology trends that may impact Rakuten (Competitor’s Dashboard)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Economics
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in business intelligence or e-commerce, including experience working as a business analyst or database analyst
  • Quantitative mindset and analytic capabilities
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Tableau experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • A track record of following through on commitments
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Able to work in a high volume and constantly changing environment
