This job position is a critical engineering role in the Technology Operations organization to build and operate our web stack infrastructure on cloud platforms and automate service deployments. In this job, you will run what you build. The job will include developing tools and strategies for automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration, automate deployments, testing and monitoring to support engineering and product organization requirements.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:


• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Packer.

• Configure and maintain lifecycle of provisioned infrastructure using Chef configuration management.

• Write python or bash scripting to automate routine Linux systems administration tasks.

• Work closely with Engineering & QA teams to transport Docker images from Dev to Production via the CI/CD pipeline.

• Build and maintain Jenkins, Artifactory to ensure a 24 X 7 X 365 continuous deployment pipeline.

• Provision Kubernetes clusters and lifecycle maintenance across both Non-Prod and Prod environments.

• Work with Engineering and QA teams to instrument right level of necessary logging to help with production issues troubleshooting.

• Configure, maintain and continuously tune service availability metrics (Error rate, Throughput variations, Latency) to ensure very high performance and smooth operations.

• Passionate about automation and infrastructure as code principles.

• Propagate changes to environment rapidly per findings from Security Engineering/Operations team.

• Available for 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
 

Required Experience & Skills:


• 7+ years of experience in Linux & Webstack administration for an E-Commerce company

• 5+ years of experience in Nginx/Apache, Java, Python, PHP is mandatory.

• 3+ years working experience with AWS, Terraform, Packer, Chef, Jenkins in a production environment.

• 2+ years of running Webapp in Docker, Kubernetes in a production environment.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking principles, concepts and troubleshooting skills.

• Mastered scripting skills in one of Ruby/Python to solve production problems.

• Production system integration, log collection and analysis, builds and performance monitoring/tuning.

• AWS Certification is a plus.

• Kafka Administration experience in production is a plus.
