Rakuten utilizes large-scale television & digital video campaigns to effectively promote our cash back shopping value proposition. We’re looking for a talented, performance-driven marketer to join our team and help drive continued, efficient growth. This role will have the opportunity to work across offline and digital video media, DRTV creative, and response-driven branded integrations. The right candidate will have extensive expertise in hands-on data-driven management of direct response television campaign(s).

 

The Marketing Manager, TV/Digital Video (For Ebates Group) will operate as a member of our Marketing Team and report to the VP Brand Marketing

 

Day to Day:

• Work as a data-driven and collaborative individual who will be managing direct response television & digital video media at scale.

• Works closely with agency partners to ensure execution of advertising that efficiently builds new user growth.

• Assist in the production of branded content across multiple key television network partners.

• Assist in the strategic planning and buying of linear television and digital streaming inventory.

• Work closely with the marketing analytics and research agency teams to analyze market research, in-market results and advertising metrics to assess performance and generate future improvements.

• Translate insights into actionable consumer driven advertising strategies that support business and marketing objectives.

• Leverage competitive industry and business analysis to identify market opportunities. Test new media opportunities that help extend reach, effectiveness and improve brand perception.

 

Big Picture:

You will take lead on our TV and digital video media plans to ensure they continue to perform efficiently, while also taking steps to further improve our efforts. We utilize an array of different types of media inventory (fixed, DR, programmatic, etc.) and creative campaigns/formats. Your keen media & creative analysis and insights will be critical for continued success and expansion of the programs.

 
 

Skills and Capabilities:

• Results Orientation: A commitment to establishing ways to measure effectiveness of programs and demonstrably improve metrics 

• Technical Expertise: Stellar, persuasive written and verbal communication skills. Proven expertise in media measurement, analytics. Understanding of data, research to drive campaign performance.

• Market Insight: Demonstrated understanding of the changing media landscape and ability to effectively hedge media accordingly

• Collaborative: Proactive cross-functional partnerships to work effectively with peers and partners in and outside of the company 

 

About You:

• Have an inner drive and fierce commitment to excel in the pursuit of business goals 

• Possess a penchant for seeking out new experiences, knowledge and candid feedback and an openness to learning and change

• Enjoy following media trends and consume content on a regular basis – you have a genuine passion for television and digital video content

• Have the ability to gather and make sense of information that suggests new possibilities 

• Demonstrate a knack for authentically using emotion and logic to communicate a persuasive vision and connect with people 

 

Qualifications:

• 6+ years’ experience in direct response offline media
• 4+ years’ experience in buying digital video media

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

• Experience developing, planning, and executing marketing campaigns, along with end-to-end performance analysis

• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with internal & external partners

• Results oriented with a go-getting spirit that loves to exceed expectations, meet deadlines, and overcome obstacles

• Preferred BA/BS degree in related discipline (i.e., Marketing, Business, etc.).
